Standards based UDL Classroom STEM Labs

WHo Are We?

SoCal STEM Carnival is dedicated to inspiring a lifelong passion for engineering through fun, hands-on lessons, engaging activities, real-world problem solving, and collaborative teamwork. Our Lab activity packages are thoughtfully designed using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and aligned with California’s Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Each Lab features multiple activity centers, encouraging students to explore topics from diverse perspectives.

Our Labs offer immersive experiences in applied science and creative thinking, powered by proprietary tools and materials. We know we’ve succeeded when a student exclaims, “I want to be a pilot!” or “I want to be an engineer!”

Frequent Question Information

    • To order a lab, please email us. You can use our google form via “Book Now” links, or Email us directly.

    • Include your lab choice and date that you prefer. We will adjust and agree on the Lab date via email, dependent on availability.

    • Our lab centers are designed to engage students with different or modified activities that reinforce the chosen STEM topic.

    • Classes of students will spend about an hour in the lab. They’ll be split into groups of 6 - 8, depending on the amount of students.

    • Class groups will rotate in and out library style.

    • A staff member shall be present during our labs.

    • A vacant or unused classroom is required for set up. An MPR works well.

    • Fire lane access is required.

    • Indoor set up location is required, an MPR or large classroom works well.

    • In campus parking is required, please indicate where, within the campus gates, to park our truck. If no indication is given, we will park the truck out of the way of the playground.

    • Set up may take upwards of an hour. If room access is delayed, we will do our best to shorten the set up time.

    • Teardown takes about an hour.
